After moving into my current apartment, I quickly realized I needed more space. At the rate I was collecting jewelry, I really needed to have a better system  and have designated spots for everything.

We have this small wall in our bedroom, and I considered putting up art, but thought it would be a great spot to put my full-length mirror. That’s when I quickly got the idea to add this metal shelf next to it to create more organization. I had an extra 3-shelf storage unit, the kind you see in restaurant kitchens just sitting around, so I decided to get it spray painted black, and then I bought a tray from Ross to give it a much cleaner look. I chose the tray based on the theme I already had, which was black and gold.

I had all the jewelry organizers, but I didn’t have a designated spot for all my jewelry. Since I didn’t want to spend money at the time on a nice shelving unit, purchasing a beautiful (probably faux) marble tray from Ross was all I needed to create this space for myself. It turned out to be the perfect spot to keep my jewelry, as well as a candle and diffuser depending on my mood.

I am honestly very content with how this area turned out in our apartment. It’s my little corner, and it’s very accessible whenever I want to diffuse oils (which is often). The only thing I had to purchase was a tray! All the jewelry holders and organizers were purchased on Urban Outfitters or gifted to me and I was lucky to find the gold full-length mirror at Ross awhile back!

I don’t wear jewelry as much as I’d like to, but I enjoy collecting and finding pieces that are my style, either simple classy or minimal statement pieces. In my jewelry box, I keep all my rings and earrings. Necklaces on the hanging mirror are my cheap necklaces, while necklaces on the mirrored tray are ones that have been gifted to me, or are of higher quality. Lastly, I keep my bracelets on the pineapple tray since the size was just perfect for my bangles.

For the shelves below my jewelry organizer, I use one shelf to store bags that I use more often, and on another shelf, I store all my beanies, heatable wrap and extra candles that I don’t know where else to store. Maybe if I move again, I will invest in a nice console/shelving unit, but I am in no rush to get it at this point. It was an easy, affordable space I made for myself from things I already had almost everything of!
