I would say in no way do I consider myself a professional cook and that you need to follow my recipe measurement by measurement, nor am I someone that follows the ingredients and instructions to the tee. What I enjoy about my cooking is that I work with what I have already and when it comes to adding flavor to my meals, I start with a base I probably got from Pinterest and from there I add whatever seasoning is needed to make it taste good. If I want more spice, I’ll either do chili powder or gochujang or any of the hot sauces I have in my cabinet.  I always enjoy a decent amount of black pepper in my dish and for when I want different flavors, I’ll add Italian seasoning or cumin or furikake and sesame.

Costco is our best friend. We can get bulk pasta, rice, meat, bread, and anything that can LAST in our cupboards or freezer for a couple of months. We always buy some kind of fish, chicken breast, ground turkey, and red meat for special occasions. From there all we need is fresh produce to make our meals. What I am thankful for is for a full kitchen. We have all the basic ingredients to whip up a great dish without feeling like I have to leave my house and go to the grocery store, otherwise, I will improvise.

I don’t like to go to the grocery store more than once a week, but at least once a week whether it is going to Costco, a grocery store in my neighborhood, Wally world or the farmers market. Some of these locations sell more things than others but it’s easy to figure out where we need to be going each week and we are still able to have everything we need.

My food blog is to inspire others that need ideas for cooking. I feel like many people avoid cooking because it either takes time or because they feel like they need the right ingredients to cook so they just end up eating out. After four years of living on my own and figuring it out, I think I got it down and must share how I do it. The images I have below are just some dishes that I made with all the leftover ingredients I had! I look forward to making a pantry and freezer must-haves and how to have all the right ingredients to have a full kitchen when it seems like you have nothing!
